The problems with the [livejournal.com profile] newbieguide entry I have been writing on Sherlock Holmes have been FIXED and the guide is open for business! There is still a lot more I would like to do with the guide (pictures, for one), and I would like some feedback before I proclaim its existence to the Holmesian groups on LJ. So, anyone interested in Holmes, would you scoot on over and check it out and tell me what you think? Thanks!

Go you! That is a heck of a lot of work and very concisely presented. I didn't scour it for detail, but have bookmarked it to do so soon.

Yay! I really want it to be comprehensive, but not overly frightening, so that people will actually READ it and enjoy it. One thing I need to do is add anchors so that you can click on a topic up at the top and go straight to it in the body of the entry (but first I must learn how to write anchor codes!).

Any suggestions? I'm actually thinking of linking to your recs page because it's the only one existing that has links to just about all the Holmes slash that exists online, but I also don't want to be too slash-centric, because it is a very small part of the fandom.

Oh, good heavens! You didn't think I would be offended, did you?! By all means, include whatever you find to be appropriate to the audience and leave the rest.

I wouldn't be able to begin to match you knowlege of "normal" Sherlockiania, but I did email you at the Inverness...hotmail addy with a handful of typos and a few normal link suggestions...except that I failed to note that you already had a link to canon online, so ignore that, and I forgot to add the "Silver Blaze (aka Muder at the Baskervilles)" Muder/Murder typo. Lemme know if the mail doesn't come through or if that is a defunct addy.

Yeah, I suck.

O, and thanks for the Alice in Baker Street link. Weird, but strangely compelling...

Yay thanks for the suggestions (which I haven't seen yet but I'm sure they are awesome), and thanks for the typo notes. My address is still inverness1854, so that should work out nicely.

How can you suck when you obviously RULE?

That is a pretty exact desciption of the story. I wish the author would finish it, but as that will probably never happen I will have to console myself by writing more Moriarty goodness...

Oh, and to confirm my suckiness, I have now forgotten not once but twice, to thank you, thank you, thank you for reminding everyone that ACD had Watson as HANDSOME and not as Nigel Bruce, and for the appropo quotes you used as epigraphs to the sections. Perfect!

and you really should have received that email by now. holler again if you haven't. lyrastarwatcher at yahoo dot com

Well, I was hoping more for "informative" and "not frightening to outsiders", as well as perhaps "interesting and made me hop through links for HOURS!". Ah well.
