help! i need good clear pictures of the seventh doctor's question mark pullover! i found some good pics of a reproduction but the colours aren't quite right and the lower edge is wrong. also the original looks like it might have a little pocket on the lower right hand side but i can't get find any decent pics where he's not wearing the jacket or the sweater isn't obscured or tiny. a friend knows someone who might be able to knit one for me so obviously this inquiry is VERY IMPORTANT.

help me, flist! you're my only hope!

Did you try this entry at [livejournal.com profile] dw_cosplay: http://community.livejournal.com/dw_cosplay/143161.html

Else, in general, I'd suggest droppping [livejournal.com profile] honorarydoctor a line because he's got a LOT of information at his fingertips. He might even have a good fan-made knitting pattern.

omg amaaaaaaaaaaazing. i was totally going through all the seventh doctor tags on [livejournal.com profile] dw_cosplay but i either missed that one or hadn't got to it yet. i definitely looked at another entry of his because i nicked a couple pics of that reproduction pullover -- it's odd, though, because the repro doesn't have blue lining at the bottom edge to match the sleeves, the way the original costume does, plus it's missing the wee pockets. still really helpful, though, and the pattern on the link you gave me is probably SUPER helpful omg. i think that plus a couple screencaps that lurky found should get me set. <3<3<3

And after all this time, Silver Nemesis turns out to be good for something after all ... (I grabbed these offa THT, btw)

I think there are two little pockets, one on each side. These shots have the jacket but show each in turn:

This one's similar to the first one, but handily shows both pockets (just about), though the colours here are craptacular:

Here is the best shot of it in my personal collection, a cap of the repelling-Haemovores scene in Fenric, which might be good for colours though tbh I wouldn't make great claims for my computer's colour-matching or anything:

It looks like you're all set for photos, so all I have to say is that whoever is willing to knit this for you is much better at it than I am, and probably a very patient person indeed. Swapping out yarn every few stitches to make the question marks would drive me bananas.

well, the person in question hasn't seen what the sweater actually looks like yet, so i may be getting a message saying, "lol, NO" very soon. we'll see. :D

I can tell you for sure my mom would say "Lol, NO." Exactly like that too. Even though she's a brilliant knitter. :(

I've got to second [livejournal.com profile] nonelvis; I've been toying with the idea of doing one of these for a friend who I know would cherish it, but the thought of all that intarsia...

Now that I think about it, though, a stranded knitting technique could potentially produce the desired result without creating a jillion tiny ends to weave in. Hmmm.

Anyway, can't wait to see the finished product; that's a mighty good friend!

Lurky's already got better caps than I would have taken, but you have some seriously awesome friends.

I'm no help with photos (sorry!) but I just had to say that if you ever get this pullover, you must post photos of yourself wearing it!

i'm the guy hooking up prof here with the knitter.. who is a patient person, and may perhaps be looking for a challenge. knitter will probably also appreciate that it's a sweater vest because i know she hates sleeves.

prof, if you havent seen yet i copied you on the email to the knitter, so check yr gmail.

I'm no help at all, but completely off topic... those pictures of Ace up there, I'm totally weirded out how much my pal [livejournal.com profile] doven looks like her. I told her this evening she should cosplay Ace. She rolled her eyes at me. ;___;
