how is "voyager" not canon? you may not have liked it, but it is most definitely canon.

(prepares for you to hit me really, really hard)... and so is "enterprise". (runs and hides, quivering with fear).

you know, i am actually kind of pissed that they destroyed the planet romulus. i mean, i could deal with the destruction of vulcan, because that happened in the alt!universe, but the destruction of romulus happened in the original universe before spock and nero went through the black hole.

i know that, as a race, the romulans were primarily employed as villains throughout the various series, but even spock felt that they were worth saving (heck, even worth spending a large chunk of his later years on their planet working towards reunification with the vulcans).

not cool, man, not cool. *shakes head*

also, did you catch the reference to "enterprise" in the movie? :P

what am i your abusive fandom boyfriend or something? geez.

i don't like voyager and i don't like enterprise. i tried watching both of them many times over many years. brannon braga didn't pass some fandom law that says i *have* to accept them as canon just because he and paramount wanted to milk more money out of the franchise, just like i have no control over whether you count the animated series or the bantam novels or the pocket books novels as canon.

what about REMUS?

On the second view, I think there is no reason to think it was only a few days. Pike would not look so "good" if it was just a couple of days. He had a stupid bug thing on his brain stem or whatever they said. That must take a while to get over....

Also, it's the future, but these are still humans we're talking about. It would take forever for the bureaucratic planning bullshit stuff to go through.

Favorite thing about the movie this time? Spock's coat! It's got what looks like coconut patches on the shoulders, but they zip up into a bowl!!!! Classic!! I want one!

no, you don't have to accept either show as cannon, but they still are.

i mean, i hated the movie "nemesis" but i still accept it as official canon. personal canon is another thing entirely. you can choose whatever you want to accept or reject for your official canon (novels, etc) but official canon is what it is, even if it really sucks.

you're right, that planet would have been destroyed in the super nova as well.

tara says the novelisation says it's a few weeks -- everybody goes back to class and finishes up and the end is hwere they're getting their commissions. which still leaves us with kirk being being promoted from cadet to captain in a matter of weeks. um.

i was about to say "well go to vulcan and get one!" but then i remembered. ;____;

that's fine. i don't care about official canon.

ok. I just felt that it was important to make that distinction. like in my mind, data wasn't killed in "nemesis" because lalalalala i'm not listening! but i do still have to accept that it is the official stance in terms of canon. :(

actually, except for Spock, who seems to get demoted or stay the same, they ALL get promoted in a few weeks.

I wonder about having an entire crew of 20-somethings = wise?

And don't worry, I'll find a way to get a bowl coat. IT WILL HAPPEN!
