the post where i am gobsmacked by how great my friends are

so i've been meaning to make this post for about a week or so, but life kept intruding. and frankly i wanted my mind on it properly, so i could express the depth of my gratitude. sadly, i have realised that i probably don't have the vocabulary for that, but here is me giving it a go.

so cesario called me up a couple weeks ago and told me about her and lizbee's fundraiser plan for me. and then, as predicted, i cried like a wee baby. she only laughed at me a little. but really, this gesture came at a time when life has been hard, financially and personally, and to have so many people come together and offer me a helping hand really just... it means more to me than i can say. some of you know about some of the personal stuff that's been going on these past few months. past year or so, really. being poor and tendonitis and losing my job, and the general difficulty and expensiveness of transitioning and losing the guy that i loved because of it. anyway, the non-detailed story is i've really needed friends, and i feel so privileged to have you all.

so this money you all donated is going to rent, and food, and much-needed health-related things like bloodtests and medication. thank you all so much, especially since i know a lot of you aren't exactly flush at the moment either.






i blurred the names for internet purposes but you can probably deduce where you are on the list given the length of your name and the amount given. also there are a few of you on there who i don't know, and i want to thank you too, for hearing i was in need and throwing in a few dollars. fandom is a pretty great thing.

I like when fanfic plays around with canon, myself (even if I am not personally pleased at the result), because I think fanfic is a great forum for trying out what-if situations.

i love that! but what i don't love is characters never, ever learning from their mistakes, and that's the only way i can seem to interpret the doctor and rose putting each other over everyone else. plus nate is the only other person in the entire universe who knows anything about gallifrey, about the doctor. i can see the doctor being a coward and leaving him in another universe, so he never has to deal with that. but if he's in the same universe as the doctor... i don't think the doctor wouldn't actually care about him. he would just be crap at it.

Though I have to admit I was quite surprised, yet happy to see someone had restarted the Handy recs (was that you?).

i may have restarted it on the previous page, but the most recent iteration was someone else. A MYSTERY. i possibly contributed a few of the recs, though. ¬___¬
