I'M GOIN' IN

so
livii's illuminating recent post reminded me of how sadly unsatisfactory That One Scene, from spearhead from space, was: BUT how the producers kindly made it up to us, the viewers, with the last episode of the silurians.

so here is the doctor, all suited up in anti-radiation gears and such. VERY SCIENTIFIC. and then we cut directly to the next scene and see:

and then, yes, gratuitous t-shirt time. no mention is made, at any point during the rest of the episode, why the doctor needs to strip down to a short-sleever to DO SCIENCE. which is what makes it most awesome. "I'M GOIN' IN!"

liz and the brig wonder why the doctor is in his vest, and where the hell the rest of his clothes have gone. the doctor is confused by their questioning looks. "What?"

back shot!

this is to remind us, during later seasons, that the doctor's hair had not always been trying to consume his head.

"i might have set the reactor up to... erm... explode... a bit. maybe." also: GRATUITOUSTATOO MARK OF EXILE!

ACTION! EXPLOSIONS! BRIGHT LIGHTS AND THINGS! JUMPING AND SUCH!

apparently this was all too hott for the BBC.

much too hott, so to prevent further explosions we are brought back down with THIS. ;____;
which of course brings us to the real point of this post:

thanks, BBC!

Date: 2008-03-27 07:02 pm (UTC)(yes, do watch it. but be WARNED, for it has the worst score in the history of doctor who -- yes, that seems a bold claim, until one remembers that the score for the silurians is made entirely on incredibly discordant kazoos. but it also has geoffrey palmer, so yay! and bonus shot of ANCIENT PANGAEA).
