heart's desire

yah. yah. ok. i am full of jittery anticipation all of a sudden. EXCITEMENT EXCITEMENT. someone posted a couple of scans from the latest doctor who magazine, giving brief overviews of the next series episodes RIGHT HERE. all of the excitement and hope and all that was KILLED by VotD seems to be back.
mainly i think VotD has all but disappeared from my mind, so i am looking at the other stuff with my old eyes/brain neurons, partly from the scans above, partly because i looked up martha's myspace to see if she had written anything since she's been on torchwood, and discovered an entry sandwiched between the last and the second-to-last THAT HADN'T BEEN THERE WHEN THE SERIES ENDED IN JULY. it's about the infinite quest! and she is writing it right after LotTL!
and it literally says:
"But back then, it was fun. Just seeing all those places and meeting all those people. Giant bug queens and robots and a man who was like a toad. And, yeah, saving the Earth with just a spoon. They were good times. So mad and mind-blowing and everything... and then we ended up here.
Me sitting here. Wishing it was like that again. But, after everything I've seen. After everything I've lost…
And all because of the Doctor's heart's desire.
it's like real-time retconning or something! or clarification of purpose? or maybe we should just call it "extended characterisation". whatever, dude who writes that (name escapes me suddenly) is being employed by the production staff, his writing is supposed to be an extension of intended canon at least, so... my optimisim is surfacing once again. hurrahs!

Date: 2008-03-08 11:32 pm (UTC)mahahaha thanks wikipedia:
Peri claims that the Doctor has referred to her as "Zoe", "Tegan", "Susan", "Sarah Jane" and "Jamie", as well as the "Terrible Zodin". Zodin is a never-seen character first referenced in The Five Doctors and later mentioned in a Martha Jones blog entry labelled Infinty on the official Martha Jones Myspace site.
so apparently not. *sads*
but at least i now know that it is a nickname he had for peri. o___o also that doctor who fans are freakily good at updating wikipedia.

Date: 2008-03-10 05:04 pm (UTC)XDDD That was in that Sixth Doctor episode with the Cybermen -- hilarious scene. As I recall, too, Zodin was female -- the Second Doctor tells the Brigadier "she was after your time" or something like that. A tantalizing detail.

Date: 2008-03-12 02:36 am (UTC)He did! They landed in the same junkyard where the series began, and he did a double-take at the sign and called "Look, Susan!" It was great.
