That line is definitely a result of our conversation. *dances at having taken your breath away* When you mentioned your ideas I was just floored at how exactly they fit into the story I wanted to tell. It just took a very long time to get around to it -- and a good thing too, since by then I had some idea of Moriarty as a character, which happened to be quite necessary. Maybe that's why I became stalled when I first started it.
I end up feeling bad for Russell -- Holmes at least might have had the consolation that he was at least interesting to Moriarty, but Russell will never know if Donleavy had any interest in her or whether she did it all just to get at Holmes. Well, in any case, I'm not sure that in my universe anything actually happened at all. Donleavy is just the type to say it just to get one last jab in before she goes (yay ambiguity!).
I would love to post it to RUSS-L, but somehow I think it might not be very well received by large portions of the group. *sadness* I don't know.
