at first i thought this must be fan-made, but it appears to be a genuine deleted scene from the half-blood prince. how it has ended up youtube i don't know.

i don't know how it was cut from the film either, because it's beautiful.

As far as I can tell, it's identical to the actual sequence in the movie, only with inexplicable shots of Hitlerwick's choir and the music and "In Noctem" playing in the background.

i don't remember those shots of snape! or of everyone being all restless and such. but mostly snape. you've seen the movie more than i have, though. although actually i saw it last week with my sister. hmmm.

i thought perhaps it was cut because it made it even more obvious that snape is not actually evil?

yeah, some was -- like draco getting out of bed. but i feel quite sure the shot of snape was not. i'm not even a huge snape fan but that was great.

No, I'm certain the Snape shot wasn't in the film, I'd have remembered it. I suspect you're right that they might have cut it because they thought it was too revealing.
