i was playing around with that story and i'm pretty sure that when i get round to finishing it the beginning will be totally different. it was originally going to be from romana's perspective but i think it'll end up being from the master's -- and so the beginning will be a set of nightmarish experiences as the time lords try to resurrect him over and over again until they get it (mostly) right.
