waters of mars

if the rest of the special is as good (and creepy) as this new clip, it will be one of the most awesome episodes EVER.

:O <----- my face as i watched it, trufax!

Oh god, the make-up on the water-y dudes creeps me the FUCK out.

[identity profile] prof-pangaea.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I LOVE IT. and it is perfect without any music -- all silent and creepy. i hope they keep it that way.

Omg that's DELICIOUS. And Lindsay Duncan is awesomeness! (Naturally, but it's nice to see it, yah.)

[identity profile] prof-pangaea.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
lindsay duncan looked awesome and if fandom doesn't produce a thousand ten/lindsay duncan's character fics after this airs i will be a sad panda.

obv there woill be no actual sex though. Only tasteful fading to black.

[identity profile] prof-pangaea.livejournal.com 2009-07-10 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
can i write a Deleted Scene full of non-tasteful descriptions of sexing?

[identity profile] violetisblue.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Aieeeyeeessh. Damn, this means I have to watch it.

And I just realized what else besides the "water zombies" made that scene great: NO MURRAY GOLD. I hope it's not shoehorned in later on.

Holy fuck. Um, I'm going to go hide under my bed now.

[identity profile] prof-pangaea.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
i have a feeling that you should be hiding somewhere up high instead of down low, since that's where water tends to travel...

I AM NOTICING A DISTINCT LACK OF MURRAY GOLD. THIS PLEASES ME.*

Also, those water dudes scared the SHIT out of me. Especially when that first one turned his head. OMG EEP.

* For the record, I like some Murray Gold music, but dude. Less is more. Rein it in a bit.

[identity profile] prof-pangaea.livejournal.com 2009-07-10 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
i think he writes some great music and also some incredibly twee shite. the soundtrack for PotD almost ruined the entire episode -- it definitely ruined the ending. also: . and yeah, sometimes the lack of music is what makes a scene. *thinks of that bit from 42*

That was definitely the best part of the episode. The imagery itself was gorgeous, but the silence of the scene was what made it beautiful and haunting and... guh.

But I think "This is Gallifrey - This really needs a better title" is lovely and I love it to bits. I think it's got one of the highest playcounts on my iTunes.

omg i love "This is Gallifrey -- Our Childhood, Our Home", and i even love the title BECAUSE I AM AN ENORMOUS SAP because i am an enormous sap. wistful and overwhelming and a bit scary all at the same time.

*glomps you* I was so depressed after TW but this had me squeeing like a .... I was clapping and everything. That looks like its going to be the best DW ep in a long long time.

BUT, considering its July this is probably still in editing. I'm pretty sure Murray Gold will get something in.

otherwise:

YAY!!!

[identity profile] prof-pangaea.livejournal.com 2009-07-10 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
still haven't seen ep 4 of torchwood but i should be able to in about a half an hour. the writing is good enough this season that i think i will actually care when spoiler happens. crazy. but mostly i will be looking for scenes with nick briggs. because everything is better with nick. :D

i'm sure there will be plenty of murray gold music in the ep, but i hope that scenes remains silent, because it supports the creepy. just like the scene in 42 that was almost entirely silent -- it was much more moving than it would have been with music. we'll see!

DUUUUUUUUUUDE.
