it was very good, once the spelling was corrected

everyone talking about the movie has got me thinking about star trek (obviously). i started re-reading the wounded sky last night and am thinking about ishmael and other books. i'm wondering if there's a comm for star trek novels on lj (or dreamwidth). if there isn't would anyone be interested if i made one? i love star trek in most of its iterations but in a lot of ways the novels were really my fandom, and i've been seeing a lot of people talking about the old books and reminiscing and a lot of new fans asking what books they should read and it would be nice to have a place that focused on that. plus i'm anticipating paramount wanting to make some more money off the movie and they'll probably start releasing movie-verse novels soon, and there's a lot of potential for awesome there.

i'm thinking we could have groups readthroughs as well as be a nice central place for book discussion/questions/ etc. if it already exists point me to it but if not i'd love to make it happen so there's a place for people to post about k's't'lk and scotty's epic love or compare and contrast vulcan culture in the vulcan academy murders and, say, demons or the lost years.

Let me know if you make such a comm... Old novel!verse is my favorite iteration of Star Trek, hands down, and as it happens, I have read every title italicized in your post.

right now i am trying to persuade myself that a header made from the cover of "spock, messiah!" is not actually a good idea.

I am most thoroughly interested in a novel comm, yes.

i just want to make sure one doesn't exist already because otherwise i'm definitely making it. I NEED A PLACE TO TALK ABOUT MOIRA.

I think there's this one already? http://starry-sea.dreamwidth.org/

Is not novels only, but novel talk is encouraged.

But what I really came for was to pimp one of my fav Spock slash fics evah, "Eyes of Fire." It's based on Black Fire. http://kardasi.com/bobw/daniikhirch.htm

Yes, there is hot Vulcanoid comfort prison sex, but that's the icing, not the story.

I'd join. The idea of group readthroughs is a particular attraction. (And apparently a lot of the old novels are still available on Kindle, of all things.)

A comm specifically for Diane Duane's Rihannsu books, and how cool is *that*? (I figure if you like The Wounded Sky, you probably like her other books, too.)

Scotty/K's't'lk, OTP! ;)

hehe, yah, i'm already a member.

and oh man, i think a huge portion of my outlook on life was informed by her star trek books. i read them all over and over when i was kid.
