I don't think RTD meant it that way, but its the way it ended turning out to be like anyway. And yeah it is insane. Very insane. So insane most people deny it. Fanon is good. It's the only way to make the batshit insane things...at least better, if not disappear entirely.
I'm still trying to figure out the people who truly believe this was a happy ending for Rose and Handy, RTD included. Guh. My sympathies are all with Handy.
One wonders if Rose's mind snapped when he 'left her' on the beach the first time. I didn't like that she said that really, because leaving her means it was deliberate on his part, or he died. And neither are true. The Doctor says he lost her, which is much more apt. But Rose, nope, he left her.
It was good to see Mickey say that he missed Jackie (and barely said a word to Rose) before getting himself right out of that mucked up situation. Good for him. The bumbling little idiot comes into his own and becomes this strong, dependable character. Much love for Mickey. Though end of season 2 Mickey was wrong, he was too much like Ricky. Or at least I thought so. But his character had gotten back on track by the end of season 4.
